Who we are
The Slingshot Buyer's Guide is written by slingshot shooters: people who carry a frame most days, shoot through the winter in a garage with a catch box, tie their own bands when the mood strikes, and have spent years with every frame, band, and ammo size on this site. Some of us compete. Some of us hunt. All of us started the same way you probably are, wondering which one to buy.
The site exists to answer that one question well. Not "which slingshot is best" in the abstract, but which one is right for your hand, your grip, what you'll shoot at, and what you want to spend.
How we test
- We shoot everything we recommend, for years, not for an afternoon.
- We judge frames on whether a new shooter can hit something in the first session. Fit, an aiming reference, and bands that go on without a fight.
- We judge bands by matching: does the set deliver its energy to the ammo it's built for, and does it last?
- Every product fact on this site is checked against the maker's own product data at the time of writing, including prices, what's in the box, materials, and attachment systems. When we're not sure, we leave it out.
- We update. Lineups change. Each page carries the date it was last checked.
How we use reviews
Customer quotes on this site are verified-buyer reviews published on simple-shot.com. We quote them with the reviewer's name as published, fix obvious typos, and mark any cut with an ellipsis. We don't change meaning, stitch passages together, or invent a word. If a review says something flattering that isn't a verified product fact, we treat it as the customer's experience, not a spec.

This site is owned and operated by SimpleShot, LLC, the slingshot maker in Woodfin, North Carolina. Product links on this site go to simple-shot.com, and every product we recommend is one SimpleShot makes and sells. We don't pretend otherwise, and we think you should know it before you read a single recommendation.
Here's how we handle it. Rankings on this site reflect what we'd tell a friend across a kitchen table, including when a cheaper frame is the better answer and when a product isn't right for a beginner. We say so on the page. We don't name or criticize other makers in the slingshot community; they're our peers and many of them make excellent slingshots. We do say plainly what's wrong with the wire-frame wrist rockets and no-name marketplace kits that turn people off the sport, because that's the comparison most buyers are actually weighing.
No reviewer on this site is paid per click or per sale. Prices shown are simple-shot.com list prices at the time of writing and can change.
